Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.[1]

“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.”[2]

Beloved!

The holy Scriptures, the Bible, or the Word of God, is our final authority in matters of faith and morals. The only foundational truth for the Christian. The Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to hold fast to the holy Scriptures, “which are able to make [him] [and us] wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” Moreover, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”[3]

Amazing Grace! I was blind, at one time I did not care much about the Bible. However, God’s grace regenerated my heart, and continues to transform my life, heart, and perspective, from one degree of glory to another through the living Word of God. Therefore, I take refuge in Jesus and ever sing for joy! For those In Christ, the truth of salvation, our indwelling God, Holy Spirit power, love, peace, joy… all reflected in the holy Scriptures, is readily realized by all who love the Lord our God with all we got! Sister/brother, rejoice and be encouraged as you rest in and experience God’s truth!

This past Lord’s Day was most excellent, as is every Sunday! Pastor Mark, at Immanuel Christian, preached on the authority of Scripture. Allow me to share some highlights I realized:

I. Our Mighty God has preserved Scripture so mankind can know salvation and experience God in fellowship, enjoy Him, be empowered to live holy lives and love others.
II. We discern through the Scripture. We are called to examine, test, and reject false teaching, even expose heretical, inconsistent teaching contradictory to Scripture.
III. We take a stand with much conviction. In this world we live in culture, even appreciate some traditions. However, the Scripture declares we are not of this world system that actively suppresses Scripture as God’s Word.
IV. We need each other, relying on the Scripture to help us discern truth, identify the divisive, and encourage, even spur on toward maturity.
V. As we grow in grace, what are the essentials we can’t afford to compromise?
VI. When or in what areas of biblical truth and interpretation do we allow for disagreement and liberty according to Romans 14?

As we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, amazing grace will, especially as we cry out in prayer, allow us to persevere and effectively balance our journey with Jesus.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Sisters are meeting to pray! First Baptist. 1912 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0900.

You are invited! Go encourage, spur one another on in our shared faith, with much love in fellowship all week long! Thank you gals!

Brothers are meeting too! Bethel Assembly. 1929 Arnold Way. Alpine. 0730.

An absolute joy when brothers gather to pray! As the Holy Spirit leads our goal is to spend time praying. Diverse brothers bring life issues, family, our communities, nation, world, the church, etc., before the throne. We intentionally cry out, ask, seek, knock, and trust our sovereign God through every trial, tribulation, loss, and victory!
Your brother In Christ,
